Chris Day is an artist based out of Brighton Illinois. He received his M.F.A in painting from Fontbonne University where he studied under Victor Wang. Chris is an instructor at Blackburn College. He has displayed his artwork at many galleries internationally, won several awards and has been published. Chris’s artwork is mixed media with an emphasis in charcoal and acrylic. His industrial illustrations give a haunting and contemplative insight into our surroundings. His large scale works are calculated yet full of paint drips and mark making giving a sense of the image emerging or being concluded as the viewer looks. Images of infrastructures and construction equipment, Chris comments on our need for ingenuity and the need for constant need to rethink our surroundings. The need for invention and longevity.
